Ron Paul With Iran, Palestine, Against Israel Middle East Policy

Not hard to figure out which side Ron Paul is backing in the War on Terror.
A True Patriot indeed.
  • 9/11:  cited withdrawing a military base from Saudi Arabia immediately after 9/11 as an indication that U.S. military policy was partly responsible for the actions of terrorists. Paul has previously said that the military presence in Saudi Arabia was a motivator for terrorists
  • Al Queda: They bomb us because we are occupiers
  • Anwar al-Awlaki:  the assassination of an American citizen, regardless of the reason, is a movement toward “tyranny.”
  • Arab-American conference Ron Paul At The Arab American Institute Conference in Dearborn, Michigan, Fall 2007.
  • Arab-American News: “the American people at large, the majority are tired of what we're doing in the Middle East, and they're tired of Afghanistan” .. “you've been critical of the U.S.' unwavering support military and otherwise to Israel in the region”...”I don't think we should have our foreign policy dictated by any single country.
  • Drone attacks:  civilian casualties resulting from the Pentagon's drone attacks over Pakistan and other countries only create more enemies at the expense of homeland security. "Sometimes they miss and sometimes there's collateral damage...For everyone you kill, you probably create 10 new people who hate our guts and would like to do us harm."
  • Gaza Flotilla:  Israel is violating “Palestinian waters”
  • Ground Zero Mosque “the right to own property also protects the 1st Amendment rights of assembly and religion by supporting the building of the mosque."”
  • Hamas “is an elected government”
  • Iran Nuclear Weapons: “Even our own CIA gives me this information that they have no evidence that they are working on a weapon.”...”with the countries around Iran, like China, Pakistan, Israel, India having nuclear weapons, why wouldn’t Iran want a weapon, as they’d be given more respect internationally. “
  • Iran sanctions:  don’t impose sanctions, “treat them differently,” and offer “friendship.”
  • Iran Blockade Strait of Hormuz: Paul: Iran justified in closing Strait of Hormuz |
  • Islam: I don’t believe for a minute that the, quote, religion of Islam is our enemy.”
  • Israel: HuffPost David Efune: Whilst claiming to be non-interventionist on the issue, he has routinely adopted Arab talking points on Israel, even comparing Gaza to 'a concentration camp.' His Isolationist mantra may appeal to fiscal conservatives, but in the real world its implementation would create a global power vacuum that would likely be filled by supporters of Israel's enemies.
  • Jewish conferences: Paul has evidently never set foot in front of a genuine Jewish group? He appears frequently to Arab groups and press.
  • Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is an “elected leader” of Iran
  • North Korea: t is just preposterous to think that the North Koreans are a threat
  • Osama Bin Laden: "It was absolutely not necessary," Paul said of the May 1 CIA-led Navy SEALs raid.
  • Pakistan: “I see the whole thing as a mess,” he said. “And I think that we are going to be in Pakistan. I think that’s the next occupation, and I fear it. I think it’s ridiculous,
  • Religion: Jim Russert:  We had, we had a base, you know, in Saudi Arabia that was an affront to their religion, (Al Queda, not mainstream Islam) that was blasphemy as far as they were concerned.”
  • Underwear bomber: there’s a bit of propaganda going on and quite possibly this incident will not only undermine our personal liberties but will also accelerate our intervention and the violence occurring in the Middle East,”
  • Yemen: Lew RockwelIncreasing US involvement in Yemen may be sold as a fight against terrorism, but in fact it is more about expanding US government control and influence over this strategically-placed nation at the gateway to Asia.HuffPost
