The advantage of CDs is flat frequency response to 20 Khz, no noise, no pops, no wow and flutter, but the downside this fellow shows is that you lose EVERYTHING above 20 KHz, so in theory, if your ear has any response above 20 Khz, it may not sound as good. On the other hand many of the used 60s records I've picked up just sound terrible, so you need a good record as well.
