Arthur's Rochester and Minnesota Voters Guide 2012

Arthur's Minnesota Voters Guide

I just moved into the new state of Minnesota, and had to get my bearings. Evidently they don’t print up a voters guide booklet like they do in Washington state, but I did find this website where you can type in your address, or it can guess from your internet IP address:

I happen to be an Asian who prefers republicans and traditional values, but you make vote differently .

Republican Party: http://www.mngop.com/index.asp

http://onyourballot.vote411.org

And it produces a sample ballot this like this:

Most interesting find on Goode: voted in 2007 against a resolution opposing the increase in troop numbers in Iraq,[25] saying that he didn't want to "aid and assist the Islamic jihadists who want the green flag of the crescent and star to wave over the Capitol of the United States and over theWhite House of this country" and that "radical Muslims" wanted to control the world and put "In Muhammad We Trust" on American currency.[26]

Wikipedia: JCarlson is the owner of Last Place on Earth, a head shop located in Duluth, Minnesota.[1] In September 2011, the shop was raided by police for selling bath salts and synthetic marijuana.[2] After the raid, Carlson filed a lawsuit to strike down Minnesota's ban on the substances. His suit was dismissed by the court in November 2011.[3][4][5]

PETA LINDSAY

wikipedia: Peta Lindsay (born 1984) is an American anti-war activist and presidential nominee of theParty for Socialism and Liberation in the 2012 U.S. presidential election, despite being ineligible to become president due to her age, ... she would need to be at least 35 in order to take office. The PSL ticket also includes candidate for Vice President Yari Osorio.[1] ... she became active with the ANSWER coalition (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism). wikipedia: (wow not your average kook) As mayor of Salt Lake City, Anderson rose to nationwide prominence as a champion of several national and international causes, including climate protection, immigration reform, restorative criminal justice, LGBT rights, and an end to the "war on drugs". Before and after the invasion by the U.S. of Iraq in 2003, Anderson was a leading opponent of the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Anderson was the only mayor of a major U.S. city who advocated for the impeachment of President George W. Bush, which he did in many venues throughout the United States. Anderson's work and advocacy led to local, national, and international recognition in numerous spheres, including being named by Business Week as one of the top twenty activists in the world on climate change,[8] serving on the Newsweek Global Environmental Leadership Advisory Board,[9] and being recognised by the Human Rights Campaign as one of the top ten straight advocates in the United States for LGBT equality.[10] He has also received numerous awards for his work, including the EPA Climate Protection Award,[11] the Sierra Club Distinguished Service Award,[12] the Respect the Earth Planet Defender Award, the National Association of Hispanic Publications Presidential Award,[13]The Drug Policy Alliance Richard J. KURT BILLS
Republican challenger
Website: http://kurtbills.com/
At the state Republican convention in May 2012, Bills received the GOP U.S. Senate endorsement on the second ballot.[14] Bills won the Republican Primary on August 14, 2012, allowing him to challenge Democratic incumbent Amy Klobuchar. Bills was endorsed in his run by GOP presidential contender Ron Paul,[12] U.S. Senator Rand Paul and Minnesota House Speaker Kurt Zellers.[13]
Post Bulletin : http://www.postbulletin.com/news/stories/display.php?id=1513347
Bills is a true believer in the idea that America is speeding toward economic disaster, and he's quite bipartisan as he distributes the blame among Republicans, Democrats, appointed officials — even the American public itself, which for too long has bought into the notion that prosperity can be enjoyed now and paid for later.
...but Minnesota doesn't need crusaders in the Senate...

AMY KLOBUCHAR
Campaign http://www.amyklobuchar.com/
Democratic-Farmer-Labor
- incumbent who will probably win and has a lot of clout
- With Al Franken, the state has two Democratic senators

We need people with a wide base of knowledge of national and international affairs. We need people who can work within the system to make government more efficient and effective. We need people who have the respect of their peers, even those on the other side of the political aisle.
That's why we're endorsing Amy Klobuchar for another term in the U.S. Senate.
She and Republican U.S. Rep. John Kline teamed up to restore the paid leave that was arbitrarily taken from 49,000 U.S. troops. She also led a long and ultimately successful battle to tighten federal laws against the sale of synthetic drugs. But the true value of a senator isn't always revealed in the bills they champion. Klobuchar is part of a centrist-leaning bloc of senators who are striving to break the gridlock that plagues Washington — and she says the tide is turning.

There is only one incumbent O'Neil who says that Superintendent Munoz was a "magic wand" moment, but I'm not impressed with the common strategy of always hiring an Obama-like visionary of color and/or gender with crazy ideas like buying everybody an ipad when you are short of money. The Gallas "team" blogs on GOP boards, and is NOT endorsed by the teachers union which is fine by me but your mileage may vary if you are an Obama fan and like visionaries of color, and putting the environment and political correctness first. We need people who are managers, not "change agents" to rubber stamp every goofy idea like fuzzy math and whole language and multiculturalism that somebody wants to foist on our kids and teachers and make somebody rich at our expense.
